As GIRARD-PERREGAUX enters the new millennium, it is interesting to take stock of its current situation by looking back over the past. One of the few watchmaking manufactories still in existence, it will be celebrating its 210th anniversary next year.
I have had the honour of being at its helm since 1992, eight years during which it has gradually spread to around fifty markets.
Today, its products are carried on all five continents by more than five hundred of the world's most selective watch and jewellery retailers.
Our collection has been enriched by the addition of several models, ranging from grand complications like the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges - including a patented automatic version - to clearly recognisable models like the Vintage 1945, now available in both a men's and a ladies' version. Both these lines have become symbolic of the brand.
Considerable growth in GIRARD-PERREGAUX's R&D (Research and Development) Department, currently comprising around twenty watch-makers and engineers, has led to significant progress in the area of manufactured movements. […]
